Accessories make my life. Seriously. You all know I'm obsessed with sunglasses, shoes, and bags, but I love the ability accessories have within the house to make a space feel like a home. I get bored really easily, and while I would love to just drop cash redoing my place on a whim, sometimes just rearranging a few things can make a place feel fresh. Ok, thank the heavens for Pinterest and all the amazing recipes I stumble upon. Today I tried this amazing tomato sandwich recipe that the husband and I fell in love with.

I used lemon pepper instead of regular, feta cheese instead of pepper jack, and added a little olive oil to the mix. So many different things you could add, like maybe a little red onion, in a pita, or use a low fat sour cream instead of yogurt.

Filling made up of tomato's, avocado, cucumber, olive oil, chives instead of cilantro, lemon pepper and salt to taste.

Non fat greek yogurt, chives, lemon pepper and salt

Feta Cheese. Would also taste great with pepper jack, cheddar, or goat.

Something about sprouts that make every sandwich better.

It looks as beautiful as it tastes.

As many of you know I received my very first Chanel bag this year for Christmas from my fabulous husband. I decided on the Classic Mini, I believe mine is the 3rd generation. While shopping for the bag, being that their were waiting lists involved I wasn't able to see it and try it on in the store. I had to base my decision on my purchase on the time I tried it on in Vegas 6 months prior. With that being said I decided to share pics of this little beauty for you to see in the event that you are thinking of purchasing one and can't find one near you.

My go to look as of late.

With this crazy beautiful LA weather it's been really hard to remember that it's still winter. This has made for an interesting time trying to decide what to wear because I feel as though I should just skip to spring. Lately I have been pairing some of my favorite spring or summer dresses with a chunky winter sweater. It's a fun way to mix things up, using what is normally worn as a dress as a simple skirt. While this pink dress is so chic on its own for spring or summer, I love warming it up and getting use of it through out the year.

Ok, so I know it's crazy but my bed probably has a larger wardrobe than some people. What can I say? A girls got to have her beauty sleep and nothing is worse than an uncomfortable bed, trust me, this last trip I went on I found myself dreaming of Shabby ruffles and white.

I sleep on nothing but Shabby Chic Couture poplin cotton. The reason I live by this bedding so much is 1) It's perfect for those lazy people who don't always make their beds, (I'm definitely one of them) because they look just as beautiful unmade or messy. When I do make my bed I throw it together so it looks a little disheveled. I'm all about the beauty of imperfection. You will not see me ironing a duvet! I've got better things to do. 2) I swear the more you wash, the softer it gets. My oldest sheets and pillowcases are the most comfy.

My entire house is comprised of white or neutral staples (bed, dresser, couch, etc.) and I bring color to my rooms through accessories. This is especially true in my bedroom so that anytime I change my bedding I get a different look.

I start with white walls,

A white bed,

A white dresser,

A white mannequin to display pretty things,

White curtains, and a crystal chandlier

My side table is mirrored, I have two white chairs instead of night stands, and a white lamp. Everything else changes, and changes often.

Now for a peek at my collection.

Here is what you will find on my bed:

A flat and fitted sheet. I have both white and prints, but all of which are subtle so they really can go with any duvet.

A Down Comforter with a duvet cover.

The Duvet is usually the star of the show with everything from my goto white ruffle, white linen for colder nights, red for christmas, and fun prints for when I'm bored.

Two down and feather pillows sit beside my bed that are used for sleeping.

An oversized body pillow

Seriously nothing beats the pillow. I challenge you to find one better.

Ketchum is one of those super high end resort towns so I went preppy for my free day. Of course I had to mix it up a bit with some spikes on my one shoes and lots of bracelets.

Ok so I love the look of these shoes. They add a little something to a classic loafer, keeping your look a little edgy. The soles are super soft and comfy, but the back has killed!! I have blisters on the back of both ankles. I am hoping they need a little breaking in, because I don't want to have to bring them back to Nordies. I'm obsessed with the way they look!

Sorry for the lack of posts latley! I was gone for a week in Idaho for a wedding and then Vegas for a little fun before my summer vacation is over. I wanted to dedicate a post soley to my time spent in Ketchum Idaho. So often we travel far and wide over looking so much of the beauty America has to offer. While skeptical at first, I was pleasantly surprised by what an amazing place Ketchum turned out to be. Many of you may have heard of this area because it was where Bruce Willis and Demi Moore lived when they were raising their children. I was blown away by the beauty, wonder, and sense of community this place had to offer and am so grateful I had a reason to go. I'll be back Ketchum.

House Guest

In our old apartment having people stay over was no big deal. The second bedroom and bathroom provided plenty of room and privacy for our house guests. This is our first time having any one stay in our new tiny little place, so setting up the blow up mattress took a little strategizing, but I think it will work out fine.

Basically our living room is one giant bed. Plenty of comfy seating for all :)

Nothing but the best for my guests! It might be an air mattress but its dressed to impress with nothing but Shabby Chic bedding.

My musts for house guests:

Nothing is worse than using the restroom and realizing there is no toilet paper in someone else's house. Toilet paper, q tips, cotton balls, even courtesy matches are all in an arms reach.

I didn't take pictures, but we played a really fun game where we met with the groom a few days before and video taped him answering 20 questions about them. We then played the video at the party, asking the bride to answer the question how she thought he would answer the question. We would then play his response. If she got the question wrong she had to take a drink. Both games worked out really good.

When I was a kid I could spend hours online or in front of the television being inspired by incredibly successful women or girls who were doing all the things I wanted to do. I would search for behind the scenes everything of the Spice girls, MKA, and Gwen Stefani. Back then it was so easy to be inspired and motivated to think that one day that would be me....no problem. One day all these people would be among my peers and I would take over the world. lol.

The older I become, and maybe more cynical as well, I find it harder to mentally bring myself to that place again. The one place that brings me their without fail is through watching live performances and watching or reading interviews of people I admire. As many of you know I love going to concerts in search of inspiration, and over the years Gaga, Rihanna, Alicia Keys, Gwen, Fergie and so many others have done just that through their blood, sweat, and tears.

Yesterday Gaga co-hosted and performed on The View and KILLED IT. Her passion and drive is contagious. Thank you Gaga for making me feel like a kid again.

When I think of summer, I think the OC fair. Every year its on our list of things to do...

The food at the fair is always a sight to see. I stuck to healthier options....

Hands down my favorite part the of the fair are all the baby animals..... so sweet.

In the crafters section of the fair I came across an artist that does not only silhouettes of people but dogs too! I had to buy the Maltese one, with the light damask matching my living room perfectly. Now I'm on the hunt for the perfect frame.

Drybar

Ok....so let me start out by saying I NEVER cheat on my hair girl. I have too difficult of hair to take chances, BUT I had a gift card to the Drybar and I was going to a Sunday wedding, when my normal salon is closed, so I don't think this really counts as a cheat.

The Drybar is a salon that only does blowouts... not chemical blowouts, not color or cuts, just normal blowouts with different styles to choose from. They started in LA and recently opened one near me in the OC.

So hear goes my honest review:

PROS

Decor. OMG its as beautiful in person as the pictures. Completely my style.

Price. $35 flat rate.
Nice staff. very accommodating, with water and tea in pretty glasses, and snacks available for a charge.
Many different styles to choose from. Everything from straight and sleek to beachy and messy, to southern curls. I chose the Cosmopolitan, loose curls.

CONS

Ok so I have two major cons that bugged me...

They have a sign at each station suggesting that you tip $10 if your like the service. I'm sorry but I just thought that was tacky....They are asking more than 20% in a bad economy. To be honest I was planning to tip good anyway, but that sign almost made me not want to......I did.
Bear in mind I have crazy, not normal hair, but I felt the attention to detail lacked, probably because with only $35 services they want to get people in and out. I have these annoying fly aways and curls on the side of my face that my hair girl always works hard to get out. This time I had to go home and do a little sprucing.

FINAL VERDICT:

If I'm in a bind where I need a last minute blowout and can't get a hold of my hair girl then its' a great option. It's in and out, and they do the hard part, I just tweak a little on my own. If I have the option, I'll just keep going to my normal salon. Keep in mind if you have remotely normal hair, the Drybar might be a great option for you.

Peekaboo

I finally got my Peekaboo coffee table from CB2 and I couldn't be more happy with it! It looks so pretty and fits perfectly in my space. I've had so much fun playing it up different ways. Here's a look at few different looks.

LOOK 1 :

This is the first look I tried. Simple and straight out of the box, I placed my favorite coffee table books and favorite vases. The little tray and clear vase are both things I picked up at CB2 as well. The rustic material of the the tray pulls together the look with my modern table.

LOOK 2:

As I started playing around more, I started to love the idea of displaying things beneath the table. I love that I could still display all my favorite books without cluttering the top. Pretty storage containers help make this table much more practical.

LOOK 3:

Once I realized how much I liked displaying things under the table I figured why not put one of my favorite accessories in place of the books. This makes for a great way to store my pouf when it's not in use and still have it visible. Practical solutions for small spaces :)

CURRENT LOOK:

After playing around and trying all different things, this is what I ended up with. I pulled my favorite ideas from all 3 looks and ended up with a table filled with all my favorite pieces all on display.

I've got a thing for maps. It may be the adventurer in me, but there is something so intriguing about them. While everything about my style is so feminine I love the androgyny of them. I've had this collection of vintage maps from the Shabby Chic store for a while now saying I was going to find some really cool frames for them. Well an entire apartment later I got sick of seeing them sit around and said screw it.....they are going up frames or not. Truth be told I kind of like them the way they are. Last season on Bravo I fell in the love with the Novogratz family. Their style and fearlessness makes for some pretty amazing spaces. I love their ability to fuse modern, retro, and rustic piece to create something pretty sweet. Chateau Marmont

I've always had a fascination with the historical Chateau Marmont. If you are celebrity, you have been there, dating back to the days of Marilyn Monroe and Judy Garland. It is the epitome of hollywood glamour and nostalgia, everything I obsess over.

The other day as we drove down Sunset and passed the Chateau on our left I began telling my husband how I've always wanted to stay there and all the history behind it. Well being that my hubby is HORRIBLE at keeping surprises, he then tells me that he already booked our anniversary there! It's not until the end of September, but I am sooo excited :) I'm so lucky to have such a thoughtful and generous husband.

As much as I would love to have a completely new outfit for every event, lets face it, sometimes the bank account wont permit. Last night I went out in Hollywood to celebrate a friends birthday, and wore the same skirt that I wore to the Rihanna concert, but styled it a different way.

Above is the first time I wore it. This look was inspired by the color blocking trend.

Dinner took place at a restaurant in Laurel Canyon called Pace. It was a super intimate and cool restaurant that I have driven past a million times not even knowing it was there. It is right off the road in the hills close to Sunset. Like most hotspots in the area the food was super overpriced, but that was expected. It is definitely a restaurant worth trying.

Rihanna LOUD tour

As an artist inspiration comes from many different places. When I need a little inspiration one of my favorite artists concerts usually does the trick. Be it Gwen, Gaga, or my latest, Rihanna, I always leave feeling motivated and inspired.

While I loved Gaga's passion and relationship with the audience, I loved Rihanna's style and color palette. Here's a look at my night.

Like usual, we started our night out at my fav restaurant Bottega Louie.

Ok so I know this picture is blurry but I had to show you the most amazing cake I have ever had. It was from the delicious desert cart that comes to the suite. It was s'more flavored. All I can saw is OMG....

Now that I am on break from school I have much more time to get caught up on my netflix. The other night I watched Easy A for the first time and it definitely falls under the category of My Type of Movies. I was blown away by Emma Stone's comedic timing and ability to carry a film. She is going to be my latest obsession.

This morning I was excited to see that she is on the cover of the next Vanity Fair! Can't wait to see it when it hits stands.

FUN FACT: I didn't even realize that she played Jules in Superbad! I auditioned for that role multiple times!

So in love with this BCBG ring that a friend gave me as a belated birthday gift. It has the Taurus constellation. I love the delicate chain that wraps around my finger and the inside is inscribed with TAURUS.

Between the 7 weddings, 5 graduations, and endless birthdays going on it seems like I have a list of gifts to buy people every week. This one is a something blue for one of the brides to be.

Feeling motivated after re reading Naturally Thin so I started Body by Bethenny and can't wait to try out some Skinnygirl Dish recipes.

I'm loving this summers Core Values ad for Louis Vuitton. I've always been kind of indifferent to LV... never loving them enough to spend the cash on one, but this ad is making me change my mind. Not to mention it is photographed by the great Annie Leibovitz. I have her book sitting on my end table- it's one of my favorites. Love a good autobiography.

MAGIC CASTLE OOTD

Last night Bobby and I were lucky enough to be invited to The Magic Castle in Hollywood. For those of you that don't know, the Magic Castle is a world famous private club for Magicians built in the early 1900's. You must be a member to visit, or be invited by a member. Our night consisted of some of the most impressive magic I've ever seen. With about 4 shows, some big, some intimate, a 5 star meal, and great people watching, the Magic Castle is definitely worth a visit.

This private club strictly enforces dress code. Men in suits and ties, women in dresses and heels. So heres a look at what I wore.

Both my dress and shoes were birthday gifts this year and I had been waiting for a good time to bring them out.
My dress was from my BFF and it was from Express. I love that it is so comfortable, comes in a ton of different prints and colors, and can really be dressed up or down.

The shoes I wore were from my hubby. My latest and greatest Louboutins :)

Kept it classy with my Mikimoto pearl studs, costume pearl bracelets, my two friendship bracelets, and my two everyday rings.....ps love my handsome husband in a suit ;)

Unfortunately there were no photos allowed inside the club, so here are the few shots I snapped with my iphone before heading inside.

Urban Outfitters Apartment

From time to time I browse the apartment section of Urban Outfitters. Usually I see the same things and leave. Maybe its because I've been in an apartment shopping kinda mood, but yesterday I came across a bunch of things I really want to buy.

I love Mercury glass and had been looking for a little dish to toss my jewelry that I wear everyday in.

This rug would look great under my table or under my stools. I'm loving the colors and pattern.

I thought this was soooo cool! I love coffee table books and love new ways to display all of mine.

Haha. I thought this glass was funny. It says, "Consumption of alcohol may result in Epic Dance Parties"

I'm thinking I need either a B and a K, or a T to go on the new shelf I hung over my bed.

My New Place

My new place is really coming together and already feels like home. Since I still need to hang a lot of pictures and arrange personal touches I don't want to show it to you guys just yet. To be honest it will probably always be a work in progress, just like my last place. I moved out before I could do everything I wanted! Here's a peek at a few of my favorite things about it :)

I was waiting until I had a house to hang this baby up, but I got so tired of seeing her sit in a box.
So glad she finally has a home.

This dresser has been knobless for soooo long. Finally found some affordable knobs I was happy with.

I have a couch just like that, a pouf just like that, a union jack pillow, and a similar rug. I love the color palette and the fuse between modern and rustic.

New Apartment Inspiration

I love home decor, and constantly changing things. Since I moved apartments I am taking this opportunity to mix things up a bit. I clearly have the whole Shabby, rustic thing going, but in my new pad I want to incorporate some retro modern accent pieces. Here's some pictures that I have gathered inspiration from.

I love how this room fuses rustic with modern. This table reminds me of mine.

Home is where we are

I can't believe 15 months went by that fast! I feel like we just moved into our apartment and we are already out. In sticking to our goal to save money for a house, we knew once our lease was up we needed to find a place where we could pay less for rent. While I couldn't bring myself to give up all my amazing fixtures and amenities we are in the same complex, just a much smaller unit. Before I show you guys my new place and all the plans I have in store for it, I'll leave you guys with a tour of my old apartment.

Keri Russells NY home

The past few days have consisted of hunting for inspiration as to how I am going to decorate my new apartment. While looking I came across Keri Russel's home on elledecor.com. I'm in love with it.

I especially love the first picture. I love all white and neutral colors, and a chandelier sits well with me in every room. This picture is making me lean toward a shag rug in our new place.

Wow, I've be gone a while. Now that I'm on summer break I have much more time for blogging and so much to watch you guys up on!!!

Bridal Shower OOTD

Last weekend I attended the bridal shower of one of my oldest friends. It was a lovely event.

What I wore: Dress/Max Co, Jacket/H&M, Shoes/Louboutin

I love dressing for showers. It's generally an all girls event so I love to do something feminine and pretty. I feel like its such a proper occasion something a bit dressier than normal is a must.

Bridal Shower Do's:

Buy off the registry. If the bride went through the work of setting one up then make use of it. At least you know you she will love the gift.
Always include a bow, ribbon, or some sort of trim to the gift. She will need lots of pretty things to construct her rehearsal bouquet.

Bridal Shower Don'ts:

DONT WEAR WHITE. The bride should be the only one wearing white at all wedding related events.
Don't be inappropriate. If the bride or grooms family is present, and you do not know them well, nipple tassels may not be the best gift. If other guests are very conservative it may make the bride or yourself uncomfortable.

Last but not least, I just had to share a few pictures of the AMAZING food that was served at the shower I attended. These personal sized turkey meatloaf and heart shaped Mac n Cheese were beyond delicious!!!
